Lake Ohau in the Mackenzie High Country is cradled between the Ohau Range to the west in the Main Divide and the Ben Ohau range to the east.  In summer it is endowed with fine weather and long daylight hours and in winter with reliable snow.

While the area is known for the Ohau Snow Fields, come the end of the ski season there are wilderness areas to be explored and activities to be enjoyed over the summer months.

Lake Ohau Lodge is a great place not only to stay, but to base yourself so you can enjoy all the activities the region has on offer.

  • Mountain, bush and river walks and tramps
  • Mountain biking
  • Fishing and hunting
  • Bird watching - Black Stilts
  • Clay cliffs
  • Gliding

Stay at the Lake Ohau Lodge, explore the surrounding nature and enjoy friendly hospitality with great food.

Ohau Snow Fields

Ohau Snow Fields is all about fun and friendliness where people are important. Being a smaller area you get to know the people on the hill.  The staff are friendly and the atmosphere in the Day Lodge is one of community.  Having skied down to the chair lift from the car park the "bottom lifty" will advise you where the best runs are and then he will be checking on your next run to see if he was right.

The Day Lodge on the mountain has a log burner, a deck to admire the panorama, great food and espresso coffee.
